Saitama » Kumagaya, Fukaya, Gyoda
This is the largest ice cream production plant in Japan. It manufactures up to 3 million bottles of “Garigarikun” a day.
At this factory, visitors can see how “Garigarikun” is made and delivered to everyone’s hands.
The factory not only makes ice cream, but also focuses on hygiene management based on the concept of “5S” (seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu, seiketsu, and shitsuke). This approach, which is friendly to both people and the environment, is one of the attractions of the factory.
There are many fun “Garigari-kun” tricks inside the factory!
At the entrance of the factory, there is a large “Garigari-kun” objet d’art. The benches in Garigarikun blue coloring, the elevator doors with “Garigarikun” painted on them, and the light blue slippers are fun to see the attention to detail in every part of the factory.
Inside the factory, visitors can not only see how products are produced, but also observe quality inspections through a window.
The last stop on the tour route is the “Garigari-kun Square” where visitors can sample ice cream and purchase souvenirs. It is a spacious area where you can relax and enjoy yourself.
The time limit is 30 minutes, and the ice cream available is not only the familiar “Garigarikun” soda flavor, but also different flavors such as chocolate chip, pear, and corn potage flavors. In addition to “Garigarikun,” visitors can enjoy all the ice cream made by Akagi Milk Industry as much as they like.
At the souvenir corner, visitors can purchase factory-limited stationery with “Garigarikun” on it, T-shirts, toothpaste, and more.
This is a unique experience at a national ice cream factory. However, you must be selected by lottery to take a tour.
